How To Create Aac Version In Itunes 12.8

In this article, you'll learn how to make ringtones using iTunes 12.7 & higher. Ringtone making process using iTunes has been changed a little after the latest version 12.7. This is similar to earlier methods but the final step of adding ringtone to iTunes has been changed a little. I've explained every step in details to make it easy for you to get your favorite ringtone.

» Download latest iTunes version

Before proceeding further, make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes which you can download from the Apple's official link below.

» How to make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7 & higher?

Follow the steps given below to get your desired ringtone for your iPhone:

  1. Launch iTunes on your Computer/Mac.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  2. Make sure, you're on Songs option under Music category.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  3. Now, right click the song that you want to set ringtone in iPhone. [Make sure you have a song synced from your Computer/Mac. This method doesn't work for Apple Music Subscribers.   4. Select Song Info.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  5. As soon as you select it, A window will appear. Select Options.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  6. Here, select the checkboxes next to Start and Stop timings of the song.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7 Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  7. Now change the song length. The length of the song should be 30 seconds maximum. If it is more that 30 seconds, you won't be able to set it as a ringtone. Apple doesn't allow that. So now, change the Start and Stop time to make the song length maximum 30 seconds.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  8. When you're done setting up the timings, press OK.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7

  10. Select Convert and hit Create AAC Version. [In case, if you don't find the Create AAC version option, use the CONTACT FORM on the website to contact me, I'll give you the solution.] Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7 Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  11. As soon as you hit this option, you should see a new AAC version of the song just below the original song. Now right click this new AAC version of the Song.   12. This should open up the folder location. Now copy this song and paste it to you Desktop. [After pasting the song onto your Desktop, do not forget to delete the AAC version of the song from iTunes Library. Because, this AAC version may create an issue while dragging the ringtone into iTunes in the later stage of this article.] Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  13. Now, change the file extension of the song (Not the file name.)
    Make .m4a to .m4r.

  15. Now connect your iPhone to Computer/Mac. Select little iPhone icon near the top side. Scroll down to ON MY DEVICE section.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  16. And now, DRAG the ringtone file (.m4r file) over ON MY DEVICE section. If dragging doesn't work for you for some reason, try COPY and PASTING the ringtone onto TONES tab from the Desktop.   17. Now go and hit the Sync button located at the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes window.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  18. You'll that iTunes starts copying ringtone to iPhone. Wait until the process finishes. And when syncing is over, disconnect the iPhone.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7 Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  19. Now go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone on your iPhone, and you should find your latest ringtone right there. Just tap it to set your default ringtone.Make Ringtones using iTunes 12.7
  20. That's all! Enjoy your new ringtone on your iPhone.

You can create Text Alerts as well using this same method. Just make sure that ringtone length is less than 8 seconds.

• INTRODUCTION
How to Make Ringtones for iPhone using iTunes 12.7 and Higher! Hello Friends! Welcome back to AppleFrendly. Video #54
Today I'm gonna show you how to make ringtones using iTunes 12.7 and higher. The method has been changed a little. So without further ado, let's get started!

• CHANGING THE SONG LENGTH
Firstly, launch iTunes on your computer. Make sure you're on the Songs category under Music option. Now here, supposedly, you want to set ringtone in iPhone using this song. So, just right click the song. Select 'Song Info'. A window will appear. Select 'Options'. Now here, select these checkboxes next to song timings. Start and Stop.

Now change the song length. The length of the song should be 30 seconds maximum. If it is more than 30 seconds, you won't be able to set it as a ringtone. So, I'll set the stop time to 25 seconds. Now here, I've kept the song length between 0 seconds to 25 seconds but you can select any other 30 seconds of the song. So, when you're done setting up the timings, press OK.

• MAKING AAC VERSION
Now, keeping the song selected, head over to 'File' option on the main menu bar. Select 'Convert' And hit 'Create AAC Version'. And as soon as you hit this option, you should see that an AAC version of the song with new time length, appearing, just below the original song. Now right click this AAC version of the Song. Select 'Show in Windows Explorer'.

It should open up the folder location. Now just copy this song and paste it to your Desktop. So, right click Copy, again right click on the desktop, and Paste it. Now we need to change the file extension of the song.

• MAKING .m4r VERSION
So, right click the song, select 'Rename'. Now make this .m4a to .m4r
Just replace letter 'a' with 'r'. So, when done, tap outside anywhere. It should give you a pop-up. Select 'Yes'. Now connect your iPhone to Computer. Tap little iPhone icon. And now we need to drag this ringtone file over this 'ON MY DEVICE' section. So just hold and drag the song. Now just go and hit the Sync button located at the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes window. And you'll see that, iTunes starts copying your ringtone to your iPhone. Now the syncing is over. Let's disconnect the iPhone and checkout the ringtone on iPhone.

• CHECKING RINGTONE IN iPHONE
So, launch 'Settings' on your iPhone. Scroll down, Select 'Sounds', again scroll down and select 'Ringtone'. And under 'Ringtones' section, you should see your new ringtone. Just tap it to set your default ringtone.
That's all!
