Flower With 8 Petals Drawing

Supplies Needed

  • Paper (preferably thin or lightweight paper)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

STEPS

STEP 1 Folding Paper Flowers

1Make a paper square.

Start out with a square piece of paper, preferably thin or lightweight paper. You can use square origami paper or follow these easy steps for making a square from any rectangular piece of paper.

STEP 2 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

2Fold diagonally in half.

Fold the square diagonally in half to come up with a triangle.

STEP 3 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

3Fold in half.

Fold the resulting triangle in half to make a smaller triangle.

STEP 4 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

4Divide the triangle into 3 sections.

Turn the triangle so that the solid corner (the corner corresponding to the paper's center) is at the bottom. Divide the triangle into 3 equal sections, each with a 30 degree angle. The most accurate way to do this is to use a protractor. If you don't have a protractor, you can estimate the size of the sections as you do Steps 5 and 6.

STEP 5 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

5Fold the left section.

Fold the left section towards the front.

STEP 6 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

6Fold the right section.

Similarly fold the right section towards the front.

STEP 7 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

7Cut along the horizontal edge.

Flip the entire shape over so that the side with the horizontal edge is facing front. Cut along the horizontal edge so that you come up with a wedge.

STEP 8 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

8Draw an arc and cut.

Draw an arc starting from one top corner and ending about ½-inch from the bottom of the opposite side. Cut along the line.

STEP 9 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)

9Unfold the paper.

Unfold the paper to reveal a six-petal flower. Cut out a circle from paper, craft, foam, felt, or fabric. Glue it at the center of the flower.

STEP 10 Folding Paper Flowers (6-Petal)
